The houses in Burnham

Burnham has an old village centre with period buildings along the High Street, and interwar and postwar housing spreading out towards the beeches.

The village houses want scribing; the later estates want height used properly. Either way the aim is the same, which is storage that looks like part of the house rather than something delivered to it.

Burnham Beeches is on the doorstep, and the older part of the village predates almost everything around it.

That is the point of building rather than buying. A wardrobe made for the room goes to the ceiling, into the alcove and up to the skirting, and the awkward bits of the house become storage instead of dead air.

  • Alcove cupboards and shelving either side of a chimney breast

Built for the room, not bought for it

Every job starts the same way: someone comes out, measures the room as it really is, and prices the work. Walls are never quite straight and floors are never quite level, so the parts are made to suit what is actually there and scribed in on site.

That is the difference between a wardrobe that fits a Burnham bedroom and one that fits a catalogue.

What people say

5.0 from 7 Google reviews

Max is a brilliant carpenter, and I recommend him wholeheartedly.

He has carried out a varied portfolio of carpentry work for me, in two properties, from 2024 to the present, including building built-in wardrobes, shelving units, and boxing-in for an air conditioning system, removing and reassembling wooden furniture units, fixing doors, fitting door handles, and putting up mirrors and pictures.

Max always finds a way to get the job done to a high standard. He is unfailingly courteous and responsive. Any enquiry to him is acknowledged within one day, often sooner.

Burnham questions

Do you cover all of Burnham?

Yes, the whole of SL1 and the streets around it. Travel is included in the price, so there is no mileage charge wherever in the area you are.

Do you work on flats in Burnham as well as houses?

Yes. Flats are often where a fitted wardrobe earns its keep the most, because the rooms are the most awkward and there is the least floor to spare.

Do you take a deposit?

Yes, 50% when you go ahead and the balance on completion. It is written on the bottom of the quote so there are no surprises.

How much is a fitted wardrobe in Burnham?

It depends on the run and how the inside is laid out, so the honest answer is that we need to see the room. The visit and the quote are both free, and the price comes by email afterwards so you have it in writing.
