The houses in Hemel Hempstead

Hemel is a New Town built around an old one. There is a genuine old high street, and then the 1950s and 60s neighbourhoods that were planned and built around it, plus later estates on the edges.

New Town houses were designed to a budget and a plan, which means sensible but modest bedrooms and very little wasted space to begin with. Fitted storage that runs the full wall and the full height is the one way to add capacity without losing floor.

The old high street and the New Town neighbourhoods either side of it are effectively two different towns, built three hundred years apart.

That is the point of building rather than buying. A wardrobe made for the room goes to the ceiling, into the alcove and up to the skirting, and the awkward bits of the house become storage instead of dead air.

Made to measure

Built for the room, not bought for it

Every job starts the same way: someone comes out, measures the room as it really is, and prices the work. Walls are never quite straight and floors are never quite level, so the parts are made to suit what is actually there and scribed in on site.

That is the difference between a wardrobe that fits a Hemel Hempstead bedroom and one that fits a catalogue.

What people say

I cannot praise Max the owner of Barraclough Carpentry enough.

Max’s work is of the highest quality. His courteous manner, skill, expertise and professionalism was very impressive.

Clear communication throughout the works and was very punctual on arrival times and cleared and tidied up each day before leaving.

If anyone requires carpentry works to be undertaken, look no further, Max is your man.

Hemel Hempstead questions

Do you cover all of Hemel Hempstead?

Yes, the whole of HP1, HP2, HP3 and the streets around it. Travel is included in the price, so there is no mileage charge wherever in the area you are.

Do you take a deposit?

Yes, 50% when you go ahead and the balance on completion. It is written on the bottom of the quote so there are no surprises.

How much is a fitted wardrobe in Hemel Hempstead?

It depends on the run and how the inside is laid out, so the honest answer is that we need to see the room. The visit and the quote are both free, and the price comes by email afterwards so you have it in writing.

How long will you be in the house?

It depends on the size of the job. You will get the timescale with the price, and the room is cleared at the end of every day rather than left as a building site while the work is going on.
